August 1, 2024 – Retrospective on Infrastructure Projects and Transition to Team Lead of Client Management

Between 2019 and 2024, I worked as an infrastructure administrator and was able to lead and complete a wide range of technical projects. Some of the most notable and engaging topics I handled during this period included:

Modernizing legacy web applications and migrating them into containerized environments, Implementing and automating monitoring and deployment processes on Linux-based systems, and performing security enhancements across mail and network infrastructures.

One particularly forward-looking project was the evaluation of a proof-of-concept for operating a local language model within the company. The aim was to determine whether modern AI models could be run locally – especially in compliance with internal security and data protection standards. While the technical feasibility was confirmed, the key insight was that a productive deployment with the available infrastructure and resources would not be economically viable.

Following the completion of this pioneering project, a new chapter began for me in August 2024: I took on the role of Team Lead for the Client Management Group.

This group is responsible for:

the design and maintenance of client environments (Windows/Linux), day-to-day IT support operations, license and asset management, the administration of ticket systems, and coordination of various foundational IT processes within the user-facing domain.

My new role involves not only leading a team of six full-time staff members, but also mentoring four apprentices. Supporting their individual training projects and fostering their technical and methodological development has become a regular part of my responsibilities.

With this role, I am expanding my previous focus on systems and infrastructure to include personnel leadership and strategic coordination within operational IT.
